Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town hosts LSSC (Central Zone) Group Dance (Folk) Competition

Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town hosted Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (Central Zone) Group Dance (Folk) Competition on 26th October, 2024. Ms Akarshi Jain, IPS Asst. Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana (Central) & Mr. Surinder Kailay, Convenor, Pbi Sahitya Academy presided over the competition. General Secretary Er. Gurvinder Singh Sarna & Manager S. Jasvinder Singh (Advocate) graced the occasion with their benign presence. The contest was judged by Mrs. Renu Sharma, HOD (Dance Deptt) Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town and Mr. Pulkit Jain, Lecturer in Dance, Police DAV School, Police Line Road, Ludhiana.

The programme commenced with recitation of the Shabad to seek the blessings of the Almighty followed by welcome address by Principal Mrs. Gurmant Kaur Gill. 14 schools participated in the competition. There were 2 categories viz Category A & Category B. Each team comprised of 8 to 12 participants of each category. Around 215 students participated. The participants set the stage on fire with their energetic performances. The students wore colourful ethnic attires & showed their talent with excellent performance & enthralled the audience with their expressions & moves.

The fun filled extravaganza offered folk dance forms of Luddi, Bhangra, Gidha, Gondhal, Haryanvi, Lavni, Rajasthani etc. Gen. Secretary S. Gurvinder Singh Sarna proposed the vote of thanks.

1st Runner up          Greenland Convent School, New Subhash Nagar

2nd Runner up         Greenland Convent School, Phase-II, Dugri
