National Sports Day
National Sports Day was celebrated in Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The day is aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of physical activities & sports in life. Through a special assembly the students were enlightened about Major Dhyan Chand who is a live example of true sportsman spirit & patriotism who brought gold medals in 3 Olympic Games in 1928, 1932 & 1936. An assemblage of events took place in the school both for boys & girls viz Tug of War, track events etc. Videos of performing yoga & fitness exercises were shared by students of Pre Primary to class XII with sports teachers. An Oath Taking Ceremony was conducted in the school in which Principal, Mrs. Gurmant Kaur Gill, read out the Oath followed by Sports Teachers and the students of senior classes.
